About Us

The Math and Statistics Course Union is relatively new at UVic.  It was founded in January of 2001 by Kara Flanagan and Ross Kang.  The main accomplishments of that year included a well-attended social event, a funny math T-shirt, a graduation photo, and the beginning of sales of solved math exams.  We also ate many donuts.

Since then, the accomplishments of Mascu have varied far and wide.
As mentioned in the home page, yummy snacks and solved math exams are the offerings of
Mascu which prove most useful and accessible to the greatest number of students!

We are sponsored (monetarily) by the UVic Students' Society.  We promote the well-being (of math and statistics) students.  In short, we're a normal course union with a normal course union's constitution.
If you wish to become involved in the course union, attend our weekly meetings or want updates about MASCU events, contact us and we will put you on the mailing list.
