For full information, please see the
course outline.
A detailed
syllabus and schedule of the lectures with
links to lecture slides can be found
on this page.
Textbook: M. T. Keller and W. T. Trotter, Applied Combinatorics, 2017 edition. Open source and provided under a CC-BY-SA license. Available in
html and
pdf versions.
Practice Questions: The
course textbook contains many exercises that you can use to practice from. Solutions to some of the odd numbered exercises can be found on
William T. Trotter's webpage.
A large set of practice problems (along with hints and solutions) for MATH 222 was compiled by Elise Marchessault and Ashna Wright during the summer of 2020. I highly recommend using them for self study or while preparing for tests and exams:
Practice Questions,
Hints,
Solutions. Here is a list of
corrections that have been found by students in the course.
Additional Resources: William T. Trotter's webpage webpage also contains links to other resources, such as lecture videos, slides and past tests for a similar (but not identical) course at the Georgia Institute of Technology. Gary MacGillivray has a set of study notes for past versions of the course on
his webpage.
YouTube Playlist: Videos from the Lectures
Brightspace: A
Brightspace page is available. Quizzes take place on Brightspace. Please check the page regularly for updates.
Crowdmark: Assignments and tests will be released and submitted through
Crowdmark.
Feedback
You are encouraged fill in the anonymous course feedback survey on
Brightspace and/or to e-mail me directly with feedback. All feedback given during the term will be taken into consideration. In some cases, it may lead to me making immediate improvements in how the course is taught.
You also have the opportunity to complete a Course Experience Survey (CES) near the end of the term. I encourage you to reflect on how the course is going, and how it can be improved, throughout the term. Your CES feedback will be used to improve future versions of this course and others.
